Dear Producing Commercial Theatre Student -
Welcome! We have finally confirmed the new location for our 12-week course. The course will be held at:
SOHO Playhouse 15 Van Dam Street Between Varrick and Sixth Avenue (Near C and E subway, Spring Street Station)

· FREE participation in the Rise & Shine Business Builders - a 5-day intensive Teleclass. Participants will be challenged to make big changes and shifts to jump-start their projects. (Next scheduled Teleclass is Monday through Friday March 9-13th 8:30 -9am).
· FREE Fridays- call-in noon -1pm on Fridays with entertainment business or law related questions. Here's how it works: 1. Call anytime between 1-2pm on Tuesdays. The number to dial is 212-869-2222. 2. No reservations needed; just call in. 3. We can spend 5-10 minutes together and I will do my best to help. 4. It's a 1-1 call, private and confidential. 5. I am only available during that time slot. 6. If I'm on the other line with another student, I'll call you back within 20 minutes. 7. There is no charge to you for this service.
FYI, I do provide legal services, should you have a theatre, film, music or other entertainment related project, or to use me as a negotiator. Just call to schedule an appointment. . Broadway University Student discount hourly fee is $225. (My regular rate is $275 per hour).
· If you would like to see the play I am currently producing - Shakespeare's "R & J" at the Houseman Studio Theatre on Saturday or Sunday matinees (3pm) or Sunday evenings (7pm). You may purchase tickets for $25 (almost 40% discount off the regular $40 ticket price). Please contact me for reservations.
What is expected of you?
· Plea se pay any outstanding balance at the first class.
· Come to class on time.
· Come to class prepared. Note that due to the schedule of certain guest speakers the syllabus is subject to change. You will be notified in advance of any modification.
· Participate-Relate what we are discussing to your projects. Ask questions. You are the first group to take this course in its present form and as such will be participating in the research and development of this and future courses from Broadway University. Your input and your feedback are essential. Let me know what you think works and what does not work or what type of material you want to learn. Your written suggestions are always welcome.
· Come to class committed to becoming an extraordinary producer.
· Network with your fellow students. Some may become your future partners or investors. All will know something you do not now know.
· Please sit only in the first 5 rows of the theater.
· We will take one 10-minute break about half way through each class.
· Let's have FUN !
Refund Policy
If you want to withdraw from the course for any reason, you will be given a full refund, provided that you notify Bruce or Julie prior to the second session (i.e., February 23rd).
Audiotaping Release / Permission to Record
You may not audiotape the classes. Broadway University however, will be taping each class of the Producing Commercial Theatre course. By registering, attending and participating in this course you agree to and give permission to Broadway University, its principals, employees, agents and contractors to record the each class and use the recordings in any manner. You also understand that Broadway University will be converting the recordings to RealAudio. You also understand that Broadway University may commercially release selected tapings or sections of tapings and that this is acceptable to you. You understand that your name will not be used on the packaging, but that, of course, your voice and perhaps your name will be heard by those listening to the RealAudio file and/or the commercially available tape series. Said permission shall also include the unlimited and exclusive rights to own, exhibit and exploit any and all such recordings throughout the universe in perpetuity. By registering, attending and participating each class of the Producing Commercial Theatre course you waive any and all rights of privacy, publicity, defamation and other rights of a similar nature in connection with the course recording and agree not to institute or maintain any claims or actions against Broadway University, its principals, employees, agents, and contractors.

BTW- There will be no class on Monday April 27, 1998, as I will be teaching at the Commercial Theatre Institute. Our last class will be on Monday May 11, 1998.
